Embark Awareness invites the community to a free Kidney Health Education and Screening event on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM CT at Greater St. James Baptist Church, located at 1301 Jones Avenue, Jackson, MS 39204. Attendees will have access to kidney disease education and resources, blood pressure and urine screening checks, and light refreshments. This event is especially important given that 9 in 10 people with kidney disease do not know they have it, Black Americans are three times more likely to develop kidney failure, and 13 percent of Black Americans carry high-risk APOL1 variants linked to kidney disease.
